CLINIQUE Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm Review | Skin Care Product Review

CLINIQUE Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm Review | Skin Care Product Review
Today I shall be introducing you to one of my favourite skincare products that has paved a permanent place into my skincare drawer, so much so, that I bought an extra tub of this product as a backup. Yes, it is a cleansing balm by Clinique, and I would say it is every lazy girl’s best friend when it comes to removing makeup.

I got it from Sephora, USA during their Black Friday Sale. A tub of this along with a Face Wash retailed for just $10!

Available at Clinique Stores, Sephora, Shoppers Stop, Nykaa

Packaging

The product comes in a purple coloured transparent tub with a silver lid over it. The packaging is sturdy and travel friendly as well, since I have purchased the smaller sizes. It is also a tub packaging which means you’ve to dip in your fingers every time to scoop out the product.

Consistency of the product

The product itself is an opaque white, thick textured waxy balm that melts into an oil as soon as it comes in contact with the skin. Hence is very easy to spread and because of the oils in it, it leaves the skin immensely moisturized. It has a wax like formula, and requires very little quantity.

Directions for use

You need to dot it all over your face and massage it into your dry skin first. Then you need to gently massage it into your eyes, lashes, face, neck and basically, anywhere you have applied makeup for about 20-30 seconds. Then wet your face slightly and it immediately turns into a milk like consistency. It melts like milk and removes every bit of that waterproof makeup on your face. Follow up by rinsing your face and neck with water. Your makeup will vanish like magic when you rinse off the oil with water. It leaves my face absolutely cleansed and my skin clear and glowing!

My Review
I have dry skin, and hence, this product works all the more better. The balm hydrates my skin and moisturises it, while removing all traces of makeup. A great innovation in its truest sense! It effectively dissolves even the most tenacious makeup and sunscreen. It is non-greasy, non-drying and lightweight. it effortlessly nourishes your skin, cleanses it thoroughly, and rinses off completely, so that all you are left with is a fresh, dewy glow. This does not leave your face feeling oily or greasy at all. Yes, it is very effective and I recommend it.

It does not contain parabens and does not have any fragrance. I wear contact lens and still can use it, so it has been known to be safe for my eyes as well.

Thumbs up for
  • Removing waterproof makeup in a jiffy
  • Does not dry out your skin
  • Is very gentle, yet effective
  • Moisturises and nourishes
  • Paraben Free
  • Does not have any fragrance
  • Does not sting your eyes

Thumbs down for
  • Definitely the price (However, you need a tiny amount to remove your makeup, hence it is justified)
  • You need to scoop out from the tub, hence the packaging is definitely not hygienic

Now I am a kind of a person who takes her makeup removing game very seriously, so this is highly recommended.
