When Nykaa decided to come up with their 15% discount offer on all products from Juicy Chemistry, I did not bat an eyelid and ordered quite a few things. Actually I had been following this brand for quite sometime, and had read lovely reviews about them. Hence, the discount offer on Nykaa tempted me, and quickly I placed my order before the products started going OOS! This particular hair masque is always OOS, hence while purchasing it, I opted for the bigger sized tub, so that it would last me for a longer period.

Argan Oil
Cold pressed argan oil is derived from the kernels of the argan tree (Argania spinosa). Argan oil contains natural sources of vitamin E, phenols, carotenes, squalene, and fatty acids. Full of vitamins and antioxidants it is essentially used for hair care because it repairs damaged hair and is deeply moisturising.
Mango Butter
Mango butter (Mangifera indica) is extracted from the mango seed and it has a very faint aroma of mangoes. It contains many vitamins and minerals that help restore damaged skin and hair.
Rosemary Essential Oil
Rosemary (Rosemarinus officinalis) is a common cooking herb with many medicinal properties. It is a powerful anti-septic with anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
German Chamomile Essential Oil
German Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) is amongst the most gentle of the oils. It has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and mild sedative properties. It is great for sensitive skin as it reduces redness and the appearance of broken capillaries. It also works to soothe rashes, stings, and burns.
Cedarwood Essential Oil
Cedarwood (Cedrus atlanticus) is a fragrant, sweet-smelling oil which has astringent, anti- septic, and anti- inflammatory properties. It also tightens skin and tones the skin. Cedarwood oil is great to promote hair growth and reduce hair fall.
Usage : Scoop some product with our wee spoon and massage hair and scalp with it. Leave it to work its magic for 30 mins before washing off with one of our shampoo bars.
My take on Juicy Chemistry Argan & Mango Butter Masque (Pre Shampoo Hair Spa)
The packaging is very simple. It came in a tub with a screw lid on. It was sealed with a foil, which indicated the freshness of the product. White intermediate lids were provided separately. Once you get rid of the foil, you may use the white lids to seal the tub, followed by the screw-in-lid.
The texture of the masque was neither thick nor runny. I had purchased it in February, when little dense crystals had formed. However, now in the heat and humidity of June, the mask had turned into a pulpy consistency. I refrigerated the tub after use. The masque has a citrus-camphor fragrance. It smelt really nice! It has a translucent colour.
Method of use
I combed my hair, and took a bit of the masque using the wooden spoon that they had given. Then I had applied bit by bit, concentrating on the ends of my hair. Once I had applied the masque on my scalp, it gave a cooling effect on my scalp, just the way I would have felt had menthol been applied. I had left it for a good one hour, then washed my hair as usual with a mild shampoo. Yes, it is oily and I had to use quite a bit of the shampoo to get rid of the oil in the masque.
Results
After drying my hair naturally, my tresses felt incredibly soft and nourished, as if they had been deep conditioned. The frizz was all gone for the day and my hair was managable.
This masque comes with a wooden spoon to scoop out the product. This helps in avoiding contamination of the product. The shelf life of the product is 6 months maximum. Since I have shoulder length hair, this masque gave me good 5-6 uses.
Overall, I loved this product and it pampered my hair, which otherwise is very neglected, thanks to my hectic work schedule! Would definitely re-purchase this, once it is on sale again!
