My Colourpop Lippie Stix Collection Part One | Matte X and Matte | Review & Swatches | Dusky Skin | Indian Blogger
I keep hoarding on Lipsticks and exclaim “Sooner or later, I will review this on my blog“.
Fact : The lazy me never reaches out to her camera for clicking pictures for her blog!
So one fine morning, the lazy me decided to swatch all the Colourpop Goodies that she had acquired in her kitty!
Since buying cosmetics online can be a pretty tricky thing to do, specially without having reference to swatches, I decided to pen down this post with lip swatches. I hope this helps all those of you who share my skintone, and who are looking forward to make their Colourpop purchase. For reference, I am NC45 in MAC/Y430/445 in Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation.
The first and foremost factor that urges all of us to try Colourpop is their price point. Launched in 2014 in USA, this brand took the market by storm owing to its affordably priced makeup. Lipsticks that gives excellent colour pay off, stays long, yet retails for one-third of what any luxurious brand would price it at!
Their website describes Lippie Stix as
Get one swipe pigmentation in a full-coverage, matte finish in a super comfortable formula loaded with skin-loving ingredients like shea butter and Vitamin E.
Lippie Stix Formula contains Vitamin E, Mango, Avocado, and Shea butter for added comfort and moisture. None of our Lippie formulas contain any nasty ingredients like Parabens or Sulfates.
Matte Full-coverage lipstick that is super long-wearing, ultra comfortable, and loaded with pigment.
Net Weight 1.0g (0.035oz)
Let us discuss the formula first. The formula for Colourpop Lippie Stix has definitely evolved over time. They come in a variety of finishes, but I prefer matte ones, so I got myself a couple of them in Matte and Matte X formulas. The Matte ones are moisturising on the lips, but they do not last as much as the Matte X does! The Matte X lasts for a good 7 to 8 hours, and survives heavy meals. So a big thumbs up for the Matte X formula. Adding to it, their Matte X formula is way better than their Matte Formula. It glides smoothly over the lips and stays put in its place.
The lippie stix has a sleek pencil like plastic packaging, with the shade of the lipstick clearly mentioned below. The shape of the lippie stix makes it convenient to apply it on the inner corner of the lips.
Application
Step One – Start with freshly exfoliated lips! Prime your lips with our Lippie Primer for smoother application and more comfortable wear!
Step Two – Line your lips with a matching Lippie Pencil; this will help you achieve the perfect finished look and give the appearance of fuller lips.
Step Three – Apply your Lippie Stix and you’re good to go!
Moving on straight to the swatches now.
