There are very few drugstore brands available in India that have swept me off my feet, Wet n Wild being one of them. I have been following this particular brand closely for over four years now, and their reasonably priced makeup products have never failed to impress me! However, I had a major issue with its availability in India. Instagram Sellers came to my rescue, however, we all know that drugstore brands are never priced that cheap the moment you decide to procure them from an Instagram Seller.

When Nykaa announced the launch of Wet n Wild, I was overjoyed! Nykaa started off with their eye-shadows and soon moved on to other popular launches from this brand. Myntra, Purplle and Big Basket followed the suit. I decided to start off with one of their best selling and most popular products, Megalast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick in the shade Give Me Mocha.

The website describes the Matte Range as

Catsuit up your lips for a purrrfect sultry look with the multi-dimensional metallic finish of this liquid lipstick with Wet n Wild’s Megalast Liquid Catsuit Lipstick. Smooth it on before your morning java and it’ll last til your last martini without a touch-up or drying. Its dynamic pigments appear to change with the light-like the reflexes of a cat.

Features:

  • Multi-dimensional liquid metallic lip colours featuring a weightless texture

  • It’s immensely pigmented formula delivers excellent colour pay off

  • Features a non-drying formula feels comfortable on lips and is long lasting

  • The dynamic pigments appear to change with the light-like the reflexes of a cat

Currently, 10 shades are available in India for their Matte Range, and 8 for their Metallic range.

Packaging : It comes in a simple glass tube packaging with a doe foot applicator that is slightly bent/curved. The applicator makes it convenient for me apply it uniformly on my lips. The name of the shade is printed at the bottom on a sticker. You can easily find these in your stash, since the packaging is simple and transparent. The plastic cap is black in colour, and it gives the feel of how a drugstore brand should be – without any frills!

Texture : Lightweight, smooth and dries down to a complete matte on my lips. The metallic one gives a nice finish to my lips. It is not runny or crumbly, and has a very comfortable formula, that is not difficult to build up. While Give Me Mocha looks a little sheer on my lips, Nice to Fuschia is very pigmented. So it certainly varies across the shades and texture.

Longevity : I would not say that it lasts very long on me. Ideally it lasted for around 4 to 5 hours, which is kind of decent enough. Can be reapplied without it going crumbly!

Give Me Mocha : This is a perfect brownish nude that is universally suitable across all skin tones. A must have nude shade in your kitty!

Nice to Fuschia : A beautiful magenta fuschia that suits dusky skintone marvelously. I generally steer clear of fuschia colours, but this one really impressed me.

I Don’t Dessert You : A beautiful burgundy shade that has a subtle metallic shine. I simply love it!

Thumbs Up for:

  • Being easily available in India
  • Decently priced
  • Comfortable formula – glides on like butter
  • Wide range of shades
  • The applicator is nice, applies evenly

Thumbs Down for:

  • The formula wears out in 4 hours, hence it needs frequent re-application

Price : Rs.499/- for 6 gms. (Can be easily bought at a discount if you keep hunting on Nykaa, Myntra and Purplle. I got them for around Rs.300/- each).

But I would say, at the given price, it certainly is a great product to be stashed in one’s collection. Someday, I wish to try more of their shades (specially Missy n Fierce A beautiful red ).

Find them on PurplleBig Basket and Nykaa
