MAC Throwbacks Lipstick – Marrakesh (Matte) | MAC Moxie (Matte) | Swatches | Review | Dusky Skin | Brown Skin

Come July, and all I wait is for National Lipstick Day which is on the 29th. It is the day when I get poorer by a few thousand rupees, but in return get a MAC Lipstick for Free! In fact I wait throughout the year for this day, when I buy all that is on my MAC wishlist. Last time, I had bagged the shade “Sin” for free on purchases above Rs.3000/-. This time, I hoarded on a Fix Plus Goldlite and MAC Marrakesh, and in turn received a MAC Moxie free (which is one of their limited edition lipsticks, that has been discontinued!).

Those who have been following my Blog for quite sometime are very well acquainted with my love for MAC lipsticks. Yes, I do admit that I am a little partial when it comes to splurging on this brand.

MAC Throwbacks Lipstick – Marrakesh (Matte)

I had been eyeing Marrakesh for quite a long time now. It is one shade that suits dusky skin tone perfectly. It was once a discontinued shade, but has now been a part of their permanent range. It has a soft, creamy texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It has been described on their website as an INTENSE ORANGE BROWN (MATTE).

About the Throwbacks Collection: M.A.C reintroduces the lipsticks and eyeshadows that you missed the most from their assortment collection. Welcome the long-lost darlings, Lip shades Marrakesh, Spanish Fly, Rocker, Bronx, Shrimpton, Skew and Icon. And get the eyeshadows in Uninterrupted, Kid, Tete-A-Tint and Goldbit, either individually or in a perfectly fitting Pro Palette. Reunification never looked so good.

Marrakesh has been passed on as a dupe for Mac Chili, but in fact it is darker and more brown than Chili, lighter and more orange than Studded Kiss, and more orange than Viva Glam I. I have swatches of Studded Kiss and Viva Glam I on my post HERE.

Price : Rs.1700/- for 3 grams.

Available at all MAC Stores and Nykaa, Myntra, Shoppers Stop

Overall, I think this is a very different kind of a shade that you wouldn’t possess generally, so you might want to try it once.

MAC Moxie (Matte)

I love possessing lipsticks that are Limited Edition. Moxie is one such shade that is always sold out everywhere globally! In fact it has been discontinued for a while now and has not even launched in India. Hence when I got a chance to grab this as a free gift for purchases on MAC above Rs.3000/-, I did not bat an eyelid and chose it immediately.

Moxie is a bright fuschia colour which has a semi-matte texture. At first I was a little apprehensive about whether this shade would suit my dusky skin tone or not. But, my prayers when answered! One swipe and it looked so wearable. I loved it. Stayed on for some four to five hours.
