My journey into the world of Digital Marketing | Remote Working

They tell you about a mother’s gains, the love, the joy, the purpose but never about the pieces of herself she loses along the way.
When I left behind a decade long legal career that I had built around learning, growing, and contributing to the legal fraternity, I didn’t quite know what I was signing up for.
Tara, my daughter, was barely 8 months old. Covid had almost come to an end, and my workplace had started calling us back to the office, twice a week initially.
I remember the sinking feeling of leaving her behind. We didn’t have anyone at home to take care of her, and my office did not have a creche facility.
While I had planned my pregnancy and maternity break meticulously, I had no idea how I would report back to work.
In the legal profession, remote work is rarely an option, more so because you’re expected to be in courtrooms, attend hearings, meet clients, and participate in conferences. My role demanded my physical presence at work.
And at that point in life, I simply couldn’t give it all.
Leaving was not easy. It felt like letting go of an identity I had spent years building. But it also marked the beginning of something new, a journey of rediscovery, of learning to balance personal purpose with professional passion.
My professional journey took an unexpected turn from the world of law to the dynamic field of digital marketing. What began as curiosity soon became a passion, the creativity, the strategy, and the ability to connect with people in meaningful ways drew me in.
That shift eventually led me to SuperBottoms, where I’ve been able to apply my analytical background from law in a whole new context. Transitioning to digital marketing not only expanded my skill set but also allowed me the flexibility to work remotely and find a better balance between career and personal life. Remote work is bliss — if you actually know what you’re doing.
And to all working mothers navigating similar crossroads: you’re not alone. 💛
