New Section on my Blog – Pregnancy Diaries | My Pregnancy Journey

Kickstarting my journey into parenthood with a brand new Section on my Blog – Pregnancy Diaries

It gives me immense pleasure and happiness to start a new section on Tic Talk Toe, something that was on my Wishlist since long. Having said that, I need to be clarify something before I start penning down my experiences –

No two pregnancies are the same, and obviously what works for one might not work for another.

To add to it, always consider your doctor’s word of advice as the last say. Do not override his/her instructions.

So when Mr. Pal & I found out that “we” were pregnant, we were obviously very happy about it. Eight years into marriage, and a conscious decision to wait for the RIGHT TIME, we finally found out our “right time” to start a family. A wide plethora of challenges could be foreseen and after our mini celebrations, we got back to business thinking how we would go about tackling the challenges. We decided on our Doctor and Hospital and the first visit to the Doctor seemed just fine. I started my multi-vitamin, calcium and folic acid supplements and would often wonder, how would I wait for the next few months? Just as the feeling was sinking in, came the real challenge.

I got affected by Covid-19 and was bedridden for almost 2 weeks. I cannot pen down the experience and trauma I went through during those times, but you can get a glimpse of it HERE, just in case you are curious. Weakness became my best friend and I faced loss of appetite. It took me weeks to regain my strength. I hated the sight of non-vegetarian food and lost 3 kilograms in a span of a few weeks. However, I always kept myself hydrated. Coconut water and lemon sharbat became my best friends. I gave up on tea and coffee, one fine morning during that time. Its actually amazing to see your entire life revolving around one embryo, how you start acting upon it, how your body reacts to the changes, and so on.

My first trimester was fairly a smooth affair barring those small hiccups. No nausea, no vomit! Just weakness, which I suspect was mainly due to Covid-19. The test reports were fine and I continued working from home. The feeling was definitely overwhelming, but I had a lot on my plate – cooking, cleaning, going for routine tests, managing my blog – just to list a few. Got my passport renewed in between. Got a major work at the Post Office done. Anybody who knows how things work in these offices at India can vouch for the mental trauma and harassment that I went through while getting my work done. All this so that I could take things easy later on as months progressed. I like planning things in advance so that there are lesser number of surprises later!

Come December, and I entered my second trimester! I never liked winters anyway but missed Park Street, fairs, exhibitions and weddings, particularly! Yet life goes on. Was blessed that I could continue working from home at my own pace. The number of Doctor visits and tests grew. I hated the sight of blood! But blood tests and scan became a routine affair. And yes, I did keep myself active and even took recourse to public transport whenever I went out. I even attended fairs, but yes, I was mindful. I visited them early in the afternoon when the crowd was less. And yes, I kept myself away from street food (which was difficult but not impossible). My office was kind enough to allow me to work from home, and I found myself occupied with work in general. Also I planned and executed my 5th month baby shower singlehandedly in a day’s time! Yes, you read that right, in ONE day’s time! Cooked all that I loved and relished the delicacies. You may want to catch a detailed post of the occasion HERE.

By God’s grace, again the reports and scans were normal. I could also feel Baby Pal tickling my womb from week 23. The “bump” appeared and finally I felt Pregnant!

March marked the onset of my third semester. It surely became difficult to move around by now. Mr. Pal really wanted an Aries baby, and I wanted a Scorpion, but I guess destiny always has separate set of plans for us, and by now I have realised that it is better to go with what destiny has in store for you. Right now, I am pretty excited about my Seventh Month Baby Shower that is happening sometime later this month, and I will surely blog it in a separate post. Meanwhile if you are following me on Instagram, you can always catch a sneak-peek over there.

If you have reached till the end of this post, I thank you for stopping by and reading this. TicTalkToe will be turning FOUR this April, and looking back, this was one of my best executions. My Blog will always be my “first baby” that way. I look forward to your continued support, because it is only out of my sheer love for writing that I am doing this, and not anything else. Like I once quoted in one of my Facebook Posts

Yes, I do work hard for creating the content. I click, edit and post. I proofread my post multiple times before I hit the “Publish” button. I spend time on promoting it in various groups and social media channels.
A blogger’s life is crazy. It is anything but a bed of roses. There is harsh criticism. Blogger friends start competing! Friends turn foes. Strangers turn friends. Crazy world it is. Add to it, a 9 to 9 job and a house to be taken care of. Yet, I wouldn’t trade anything in return of the love that I receive from strangers. People who look up to me for suggestions. For speaking their heart out. This status is dedicated to all those who stood by me through my journey. Who recognised my hard work. Who motivated me. Who kept me going. Who recommended my page to others. I wouldn’t have been here without your support!

I’ll end this Blog Post on that note. Stay tuned for more updates! Cheers!
